Embracing a New Year + Enjoying the Little Things

Hey friend,
How are you today? Hope you’re feeling a wave of fresh energy. With this being my first personal post of 2021, I wanted to focus on the positives and share with you good vibes. I had intended to send a Happy New Year message in January, but like many of you, felt a little under the weather with the lockdown news and feeling the wintery blues. I spent time looking after my health, both mental & physical, and now feeling a lot more energised as we edge closer to spring.
With this new refreshed outlook on 2021, I’m enjoying the little things. One of which has been sending postcards to my other half and that rush of excitement when I receive a new hand-written card in the post. We made the difficult decision to live apart from one another to keep each other safe during this lockdown (my partner is a key worker & I’ve got asthma) and I’ve been residing in Somerset creating a support bubble with my darling mum this past month. Having experienced time away before being in a long-distance military relationship, we knew it was something we can get through and weather the storm together. It also means I get to have awesome quality mother-daughter time which often gets overlooked with the busy lives we lead as adults.
It’s usually this time of year I start organising Valentine’s day plans, often a delicious meal out donning my heels & dress for a classic date night. Though we’re not able to do that this year, I’m looking forward to doing some ‘Galentine’s Day’ plans instead with some much-needed pampering and no doubt rom-coms on repeat! Yup, I’m a sucker for that stuff! Have you got any exciting February plans or thinking of a tasty homemade meal cooked for 2 on Valentine’s? Whatever you choose to do, cherish all the little things as that’s what makes it so special.
So what to look forward to in 2021? I’m excited to share insightful & inspiring blog posts every month to help plan your wedding, lots of real wedding inspiration and also ‘What I’m enjoying this month’ if you’re looking for some recommendations to keep you inspired at home (see below).
Sending you loving vibes, always,
Nisha
What I’m Enjoying This Month

A new feature I’ll be including are my monthly entertainment/pop culture recommendations for inspiration or escapism. I’m feeling the strong independent woman vibes at the start of year with the likes of:
Binge-worthy Netflix shows with powerhouse females at the helm, Bridgerton (a modern raunchy take on a Regency-era drama about love, family & relationships) & The Queen’s Gambit (a gripping fascinating coming-of-age drama set in the 1950/60s of an orphaned chess prodigy), a heartfelt inspirational memoir on womanhood ‘Untamed‘ by Glennon Doyle, inspiring insightful speakers on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast (particularly enjoyed the Elizabeth Day episode), empowering husky raw tones from Donna Missal and uplifting stories in Positive News magazine with everyday people achieving incredible things.
Love to hear your thoughts if you’ve seen/read/listened to any of these. Also love to hear what you’ve been binging on this month. Get in touch, let’s start a conversation!
