A guide on postponing your wedding due to Covid-19

Updated 5 Jan 2021

With the latest news, I wanted to touch base again regarding your wedding photography. Understandably with social gatherings kept to a minimum to keep everyone safe, I imagine you may be looking to postpone or change your original wedding plans.

Every couple I work with is really special to me and enjoy building a friendship in the lead up to the wedding. I’d be gutted to miss out on documenting your special day and with many couples postponing (often for Saturday dates), it would be such a shame if I’m not able to photograph your day. To avoid disappointment or just if you’d like peace of mind, if you haven’t already gotten in touch to discuss new rescheduled or back up dates, please drop me a line.

To all my wedding couples who are having to postpone due to Covid-19, I am waiving any rebooking fees if your wedding is rescheduled to take place in 2021 (subject to availability). I feel we’re all in this together and simply want to create gorgeous images of your wedding day and make it hassle-free as possible. Please get in touch to check availability.

If you’re thinking of postponing to 2022, as my prices have gone up since the time of your booking and with couples paying my higher prices for next year (from £1,690 for full-day wedding or £1,540 for a winter/military wedding), I kindly ask that your package is on par with my current prices which new couples are now paying. Over time my prices go up to reflect more years of experience, higher-quality package offering as well as investing in upgrading equipment in order to continually provide high-quality photos. These times have been a particularly hard for small businesses and I really appreciate all your support for keeping my business viable. Please get in touch if you’d like to opt for a 2022 wedding.

Please note I do offer a unique Intimate Wedding Package for existing couples if you’re considering a 2-day wedding with a small gathering in the near future and a larger gathering later on. The package is similar to this though for existing clients you’d receive additional extras and a special reduced price. Please drop me a line for more info on this bespoke offer.

I also wanted to share further details should our diaries clash and explain what that might mean for your booking and some options to consider regarding your wedding photography:

  • If you’ve already booked a new date with your venue, which cannot be changed, and I’m unavailable, I can offer an associate photographer (who has a similar style, ethos & experience) and would work on behalf of Nisha Haq Photography. He/she would photograph the wedding on the day and I would edit and deliver the photos to you so you can still keep my distinctive style of photography. Your booking fee will not be affected and the remaining balance will be transferred to the new date. You will be able to meet (in-person or video call) the associate photographer to get to know him/her beforehand. Though I won’t be able to be there to document your day, you’ll still have beautiful coverage of your wedding.

  • If you’ve already booked your new date and you would like to have a new photographer, you can cancel your booking with me and won’t have to pay the remaining balance of your package (if albums bought upfront, this will be refunded). If your wedding is legally unable to go ahead (i.e national lockdown at the time of your wedding) and therefore cannot require the services of a wedding photographer, a full refund of monies paid will be given minus engagement session expenses if already photographed costed at £300. If your wedding is legally able to go ahead albeit a smaller gathering but you wish to cancel your photography services with me, unfortunately with this option, I am unable to refund your booking fee. This is used to secure your date at the time of booking and I’ve since turned down other couples for your original day. The booking includes admin hours and may also include your fees associated with your engagement session if already photographed. I understand this may come as a disappointment if you choose this option but unfortunately, as a small business in particular in this current situation this is not something I can be flexible on.

I would love to photograph your wedding and do hope we can still work together and document your day.

Please give me a call on 07712604577 or email me at hello@nishahaqphotography.com if you’d like to discuss your wedding photography options.
