A guide on postponing your wedding due to Covid-19
Updated 23 Sept 2020
With the latest news, I wanted to touch base again regarding your wedding photography. Understandably with social gatherings kept to a minimum to keep everyone safe, I imagine you may be looking to postpone or change your original wedding plans.
To all my wedding couples who are having to postpone due to Covid-19, I am waiving any rebooking fees if your wedding is rescheduled to take place within 12 months of your original wedding date (subject to availability). I feel we’re all in the same boat together and simply want to create gorgeous images of your wedding day and make it hassle-free as possible.
Every couple I work with is really special to me and enjoy building a friendship in the lead up to the wedding. I’d be gutted to miss out on documenting your special day and with many couples postponing (often for Saturday dates), it would be such a shame if I’m not able to photograph your day. To avoid disappointment, if you haven’t already gotten in touch to discuss new rescheduled dates, please drop me a line.
Please note I do now offer a unique Intimate Wedding Package for existing couples if you’re considering a 2-day wedding with a small gathering in the near future and a larger gathering later on. The package is similar to this though for existing clients you’d receive additional extras and a reduced price. Please get in touch for more info on this bespoke offer.
I wanted to reach out to explain what that might mean for your booking and some options to consider regarding your wedding photography.
- 1. If you need to postpone your wedding due to Covid-19 and you are unable to safely celebrate your wedding as you would do under usual circumstances and you’re in discussions with your venue/church/registrars etc.; to not lose your booking, I would suggest aiming for a date that you and key suppliers can do. Please get in touch to see my calender for availability.
To confirm the new date, a new contract is to be signed to confirm the rescheduled date in the diary. I’m happy to waive any rebooking fees and will honour your original pricing at the time of booking if rescheduled within 12 months of your original wedding date. I kindly ask that your remaining balance is transferred in 2 installments to help with cashflow for a small business. If you need to reschedule multiple times for this same circumstance, the 12 month window starts from your original wedding date. Please get in touch on changing your date as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. For exceptional circumstances, if you need to reschedule your date outside the 12 month window, please get in touch to discuss your options.
- 2. If you’ve already booked a new date with your venue, which cannot be changed, and I’m unavailable, I can offer an associate photographer (who has a similar style, ethos & experience) and would work on behalf of Nisha Haq Photography. He/she would photograph the wedding on the day and I would edit and deliver the photos to you so you can still keep my distinctive style of photography. Your booking fee will not be affected and the remaining balance will be transferred to the new date. You will be able to meet (in-person or video call) the associate photographer to get to know him/her beforehand. Though I won’t be able to be there to document your day, you’ll still have beautiful coverage of your wedding.
- 3. If you’ve already booked your new date and you would like to have a new photographer, you can cancel your booking with me and won’t have to pay the remaining balance of your package (if albums bought upfront, this will be refunded). Unfortunately with this option, I am unable to refund your booking fee as this is used to secure your date at the time of booking and I’ve since turned down other couples for your original day. The booking includes admin hours and may also include your fees associated with your engagement session if already photographed. I understand this may come as a disappointment if you choose this option but unfortunately, as a small business in particular in this current situation this is not something I can be flexible on.
I would love to photograph your wedding and do hope we can still work together and document your day.
Please give me a call on 07712604577 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to discuss your wedding photography options.
